Dr. Wilber Sabiiti, the TWENDE consortium chair, joined the Kenya TWENDE team on the trail to Nyamira county, Southwest Kenya. The team was well received by the Keroka Hospital Superintendent, his team and the community. He observed as the Kenyan team impressively engaged the practitioners and the community (service users) in focus group discussions and one-on-one interviews to gain deeper understanding of the barriers and opportunities to increase effectiveness of tuberculosis diagnostics implementation. The community was very active in the discussions and gave very useful insights for making diagnostic innovations reach the people who need them most.
