The Orbital Diagnostics, which is a spin out company from the School of Medicine (Stephen Gillespie , Robert Hammond, Kerry Falconer, Ewen Chirnside from Knowledge Transfer and Giles Hamilton their commercial champion), were shortlisted for the Times Higher Education University Innovation of the year for their SLIC technology.  Here is a picture of the research being introduced to the awards ceremony in the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.  Sadly this year they will have to be satisfied with the “Oscar Nomination” as the award was given to an innovation for clean diesel.  The group have been awarded a certificate to mark the occasion.  They will have to be SLIC – er next time!
