Dr. Devesh Dhasmana is interested in several areas within respiratory medicine, in particular, the areas of respiratory infection, pneumonia and bronchiectasis. He is keen to develop improved diagnostic pathways to support early recognition and then treatment of severe infection. There is an increasingly complex technology base from which new diagnostics have been developing over recent years. Alongside this, there remains the need to rationalise NHS costs and provide cost-effective healthcare. Moreover, the prevalence of antibiotic use and resistant organisms means that the need to combine these issues of robust but cost-efficient strategies is key to providing safe, targeted and effective healthcare.
This is a relatively new area of interest in Fife and Dr. Dhasmana is keen to develop this with time and support. For those interested in taking part, or just finding out more, then please contact him or one of the team.
