Award for Dr Andrew Blaikie’s team
At the Scottish Ophthalmology meeting in Stirling recently Mahmoud Radwan, a trainee in the NHS Fife eye department with Dr Andrew Blaikie presented a paper titled Retinopathy of Prematurity Screening Using a New Low Cost Hand held Retinal Camera (Epicam) in Indonesia; A proof of concept pilot study. The paper won first prize and the ‘silver quaiche’ for the best paper. This is work that is being developed as part of the Global Health Implementation Programme and this is the fifth time in the last 5 years that Dr Blaikie and his team have won this award.
