European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Symposium
Stephen Gillespie joined distinguished international colleagues on a European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Symposium “Tuberculosis: Bringing new science to diagnostics”. Speaking were Professors Ulrika Simmonson from University of Uppsala (Pharmacometrics) Jan-Willem Alffenaar from the University of Sydney (Therapeutic Drug monitoring) Delia Goletti from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases Rome (Tuberculosis Phenotypes). Stephen discussed rapid diagnostic methods including susceptibility testing and measurement of bacterial load. Prof Catherine Ong (National University Singapore) and Prof Alexandra Aubry (Sorbonne Université Paris) chaired, and more than one hundred global attendees joined the seminar online. This was one of the pre-meetings before the Annual Meeting which will be held virtually – instead of Vienna.
